1 – First, download and install Android SDK on the desktop of your PC from the Android Developers website. Also, set it up with downloading platform-tools and USB drivers package in SDK.

2 – Next, download MagiskManager-v5.5.5.apk directly to your device.

3 – Download the Android 8.1 Oreo boot image from the official site and transfer it to your phone. (/sdcard/Download/ location)

4 – Now, install MagiskManager that you have already downloaded on your phone.

5 – After installation completes, run MagiskManager and then click on “Install“.

6 – It will prompt to locate the boot image (/sdcard/Download). Select it, MagiskManager will patch this boot image.

7 – Copy the patched boot image to your PC. The patched boot image would name patched_boot.img located in /sdcard/MagiskManager/

8 – Connect Google Pixel 2 to your PC using its USB data cable. Use ADB to reboot to bootloader by giving the following command:

adb reboot bootloader

9 – Flash the patched image to your device by given 2 commands.

fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img

fastboot reboot
