In order to connect your device to Mac operating system, you are required to follow a different procedure as compared to a Windows PC. For this, you will have to download a utility tool provided by Google, the creators of Android that you can use to connect any Android phone and transfer files from your device to a computer. The tool is called Android file transfer.
Android File Transfer comes with basic functionality to manage files and folders your OnePlus Nord. You can drag-and-drop files from your Mac to the phone, create new folders to organize data or even delete files that you no longer need. To proceed with the data transmission, you need to connect your device to your Mac using a USB type-C cable, preferably the one that came out of the box with your phone for faster data transmission rates. Then you can use the tool to transfer files between your device and Mac.
Check for System Updates
Checking for system updates just after buying a brand new phone may seem illogical, but let me tell you, it’s not. Most of the smartphone companies actually push out software updates on the launch date which address underlying issues in order to provide the users the best first day experience.
Below mentioned are the steps, following which you can check foe system updates on your OnePlus Nord:
- View the Settings app on your OnePlus One.
- Search for Updates.
- Tap on Check for Updates.
- Wait until it verifies with the server and if there is an update available, immediately install it.
The above steps helped you to set up your device initially. Once your device has been configured for your normal usage, you can now look towards software modification. Unlocking your device’s bootloader is essential if you want to customize your phone’s software. Keep in mind that unlocking your device’s bootloader performs a complete factory reset on your phone which means all of your phone’s data will be deleted and apart from that, unlocking a phone’s bootloader also make your phone’s warranty useless.
But if you do not want to customize your phone’s software, root your phone, or manually install firmware files on your phone, you can skip this step. You should know that as mentioned earlier, OnePlus provides great flexibility towards software modification and actually supports bootloader unlocking.
