Install Android 7.1.1 Nougat Official OTA Firmware On Nokia 3

Good news! Nokia 3 TA-1032 has started getting the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat official update. The Nokia 3 came with Android 7.0 out of the box and HMD has already promised to release Android 7.1.1 Nougat stock firmware soon and here we have it. Now you can test the Android 7.1.1 Nougat experience on your own device via OTA official update. This latest update comes with improved system stability and User Interface enhancements along with the latest security patch. Also, Android 7.1.1 Nougat update comes with some bug fixes and UI changes for your Nokia 3 TA-1032. Nokia rolled out the official update via OTA (Over-the-Air) so not all users can get the update at the same time. If the OTA update is not yet available in your region and you can’t wait more, then still you can install Android 7.1.1 Nougat official update manually by following this simple step by step guide.

The Android 7.1.1 Nougat update is currently available in India and it is about 738MB in size.  This latest OTA update comes with many new features and improvements like app shortcuts, new emojis, User Interface enhancements and much more. Before Getting Started:

  • Take a proper backup of all your existing data and settings before proceeding to the ROM installation guide.
  • Download and install the correct USB Drivers
     for the Nokia 3 on the PC.
  • Your device should be unrooted.
  • The Nokia 3 must have a stock recovery installed.
  • Make sure that the battery level of your device should be charged at least about 80%.

Steps to Update Nokia 3 to Android 7.1.1 Nougat OTA Firmware:

Step No 1: – First, connect your Nokia 3 to the computer via its USB data cable.

Step No 2: – Next, transfer the firmware file that you have already downloaded from the above link to the root folder of internal storage on the phone.

Step No 3: – After transferring the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OTA file, disconnect the device from the PC and power it OFF in order to boot it into Recovery Mode. Power ON the phone while pressing and holding the Volume and Power keys at the same time until you see something on the screen, this is bootloader mode.

Step No 4: – Using the Volume Down button, scroll down to Recovery and choose it using Volume Up and reboot the Nokia 3 into recovery mode

Step No 5: – In recovery mode, select install update from sd card.

Step No 6: – Navigate to the location where you have placed the OTA firmware file on the SD Card of your phone. Select it using the Power button and confirm installation to proceed.

Step No 7: – Go back to the main recovery menu once the installation is completed and select reboot system now.

Done! You’ve successfully installed the Android 7.1.1 Nougat official OTA on Nokia 3.
